I listen to podcasts on a daily basis, so I really enjoyed learning how to create a podcast. The podcast I created was meant to be a study guide for the my 4th graders upcoming test on the gold unit. I broke my podcast into 4 segments; California gold rush, first gold in Idaho, mining towns in Idaho, and tools used by miners. I also included short music segments at the begenning, end, and in between each of my segments.
An educational podcast would go under the AECT Standard 2.4. Standard 2.4 says Integrated technologies are ways to produce and deliver materials which encompass several forms of media under the control of a computer. Using a podcast is another media form that can be used to help students learn.
